The City of Somerville launched its first Hubway stations during the summer of 2012, and welcomes everyone who enjoys cycling to explore our squares and neighborhoods.
Somerville has been working to support cycling through investment in bicycle parking and bike lanes, with more than 30 miles of bike facilities and 300 new bike parking spots in its 4.1 square mile city. In 2013, the City was awarded Silver Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Cyclists.
Investing in bicycle infrastructure in Somerville isn't just about biking. It's about the kind of community they want to build: equitable, connected, healthy and convenient for residents. Their 12 Hubway stations are part of their goal to create the most walkable, bikeable neighborhoods for residents and visitors alike.
