SYSTEM ALERT: Hubway's first stations in East Boston launch today
9 new Hubway stations are set to deploy throughout East Boston this week, beginning Tuesday, September 27th.
Following the City of Boston's formal announcement in June about the upcoming system expansion, a series of discussions and surveys, including a public workshop and open house at the East Boston Public Library, were held for community members, and those who live and/or work in East Boston, to provide feedback and suggestions for station locations.
Here are the final station sites along with the deployment schedule (subject to change):
The stations are expected to be live and fully open for riding by the end of their scheduled launch day. As they launch, we will post station alerts here, and also twitter, facebook, and instagram.
As Boston Transportation Commissioner Gina Fiandaca said in June, "Bringing Hubway to East Boston is a major milestone for the program. With these new stations, East Boston residents and visitors will have an active, fun way to get around the neighborhood.”
The site of an additional 10th station in East Boston is still being determined.
