In order to ride Hubway bicycles, you must become a member. There are three membership types: Registered Annual, Casual 3-Day or Casual 24-Hour.

Additional Usage Fees
Every ride less than 30 minutes time is always included for both Registered and Casual Members. After 30 minutes, Additional Usage Fees are incurred based on the following rates. Registered Members receive 25% off Additional Usage Fees, which will be billed on the 7th of each month. Casual Members are billed for Usage Fees within 3 days of the end of their membership period.
If you want access to a bike for an extended period of time, we recommend that you rent a bike from a local bike rental shop.

Registered Annual Members must sign up for the service online. Registered Members receive an assigned Hubway key that is used to take out bikes. Annual Membership is good for 365 days, beginning when you activate your Hubway key, and there is no limit to the number of rides you may take during that year (access the fleet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 3 seasons a year - the system shuts down in the winter). Additionally, Registered Members will have access to their account online, where rental history and billing statements are available.
Casual 3-Day and 24-Hour Memberships are only available for purchase at Hubway station kiosks. Using a credit card, unlocking codes are provided to access Hubway bikes. Casual Members may take as many rides as they would like during their membership (access the fleet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 3 seasons a year). All rides less than 30 minutes are always included. Additional fees apply to all rides of 30 minutes or more.
